  • Honey: Adds a touch of sweetness that balances the garlic and butter. Choose a good-quality honey for the best flavor.
  • Garlic: Fresh minced garlic is key for that robust flavor that makes this dish pop.

Recipe Steps for Honey Garlic Butter Shrimp and Broccoli

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by peeling and deveining the shrimp, if not already done. Chop the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
  2. Cook the Broccoli: In a large skillet, heat a bit of olive oil and sautรฉ the broccoli until itโ€™s tender but still crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the garlic. Sautรฉ until fragrant, then add the shrimp. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  4. Make the Sauce: Add the honey to the skillet and stir to coat the shrimp in the sauce. Return the broccoli to the skillet and toss everything together.
  5. Serve: Serve the shrimp and broccoli over rice or noodles, or enjoy it on its own. Garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Storage Options

  • Refrigerate: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • Make Ahead: You can prep the ingredients ahead of time and store them separately in the fridge, making it even quicker to throw together when youโ€™re ready to cook.

Variations & Substitutions

  • Spice It Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce for some heat.
  • Swap the Veggies: Try using green beans, snap peas, or bell peppers instead of broccoli.
