2. Marinate the Steak:

•Cut 1 lb of steak into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Let it sit for at least 15-30 minutes to absorb flavors.

3. Heat the Pan:

•Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.

4. Cook the Steak Bites:

•Add steak pieces in a single layer, searing for about 2-3 minutes per side until caramelized and cooked to desired doneness. Remove from pan.

5. Create the Sticky Glaze:

•Pour any remaining marinade into the skillet and simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened. Toss the cooked steak bites back in the pan to coat in the sticky glaze.

6. Serve and Enjoy:

•Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds, if desired. Serve over rice, veggies, or as an appetizer!

Storage Options

Refrigerate: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat: Warm in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave until heated through.

Freeze: Not recommended due to honey in the marinade; fresh is best for these bites.

Variations & Substitutions

Spicy Honey Steak Bites: Add ½ tsp chili flakes or a dash of sriracha for heat.

Swap for Chicken: Try this marinade with chicken breast or thighs for a delicious variation.

Use Brown Sugar: Substitute honey with brown sugar if you prefer a different sweetness.

Total Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger or fresh ginger, minced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish, optional
  • Green onions chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak: Season the steak cubes with salt and black pepper.
  • Sear the Steak: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches). Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Combine Steak and Sauce: Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat them in the sticky sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to cling to the steak.
  • Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the steak bites to a serving dish. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
