Ingredients
 

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or grainy mustard
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds chopped green onions, lemon wedges

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven (if baking):
  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Make the Glaze:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, mustard, garlic, vinegar (or lemon juice), and pepper.
  • Sear or Bake:
  • For Baking:
  • Place salmon on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush glaze generously over each piece.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, basting once halfway through, until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
  • Broil for the last 1–2 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  • For Stovetop:
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Sear salmon skin-side down first for 3–4 minutes. Flip, pour in glaze, and cook for another 3–4 minutes, spooning glaze over the top until thickened and the salmon is fully cooked.
  • Serve:
  • Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions and serve with rice, quinoa, or roasted vegetables.
