  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze

  • In a large bowl, combine warm milk, granulated sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
  • Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Roll out dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Mix orange juice, orange zest, and powdered sugar to prepare the glaze. Brush glaze over the rolled out dough.
  • Roll up the dough, slice into 12 rolls, and place in a greased baking pan.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These rolls are best served warm. Consider garnishing with additional orange zest for extra flavor.
