Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
Place the pork shoulder into the slow cooker.
Pour the barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar over the pork.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
Return shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the juices.
Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.

Serve this pulled pork on buns with coleslaw for a classic combo or alongside mashed potatoes and green beans for a hearty meal.
