  • 1 lb sausage meat pork or beef
  • 2 sheets puff pastry thawed
  • 1 large egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs for texture
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix sausage meat with bread crumbs, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into 3 equal strips.

  • Place a line of sausage mixture along the edge of each pastry strip.
  • Brush the opposite edge with beaten egg, roll up the pastry around the sausage, and press the edges to seal.

  • Brush the tops with additional egg wash for a golden finish.

Notes

For added flavor, you can include a teaspoon of mustard or chutney inside each roll before baking. Always ensure the sausage meat is cooked thoroughly.
