Preheat the Oven:
Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy—about 2–3 minutes.
Add Eggs and Vanilla:
Mix in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Blend until well combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
Fold in Chips and Nuts:
Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts by hand until evenly distributed.
Chill (Optional):
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes. If you're short on time, you can skip this step.
Scoop and Bake:
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but centers are still soft.
Cool and Enjoy:
Let cookies rest on the pan for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
