Ingredients

0.5 lbs long-grain white rice (uncooked)

can
10.5 oz / 0.65 lbs condensed cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
▢
1 ½
cups
0.75 lbs water or chicken broth
▢
**2 tablespoons unsalted butter
▢
½
teaspoon
garlic powder
▢
Salt and pepper
to taste
▢
Optional mix-ins: shredded cheddar cheese
sautéed onions or mushrooms, chopped parsley, or frozen peas
Instructions
Combine Ingredients:
In a medium saucepan, combine rice, condensed soup, water or broth, butter, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Bring to a Boil:
Stir and bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Simmer:
Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Finish & Serve:
Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
Fluff with a fork, stir in any optional add-ins, and serve warm.
