such as Golden Delicious, Fuji, or Gala, peeled, cored, and thickly sliced

Instructions
Prepare the Apples:
Peel, core, and slice the apples into thick wedges. Add them to the slow cooker.
Add Flavor:
Sprinkle the apples with brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice.
Toss lightly to coat.
Add Liquid & Butter:
Pour apple juice (or water) over the apples.
Dot the top with butter cubes.
Cook:
Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until the apples are fork-tender but not falling apart.
If you want a thicker sauce, whisk the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and stir it in during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Serve:
Serve warm as a side dish, dessert, or topping for biscuits, ice cream, waffles, or pork!
