Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until tender.
Stir in the sloppy joe sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
Butter one side of each bread slice. Place 4 slices, butter side down, on a griddle or frying pan.
Add a layer of the beef mixture and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, butter side up.
Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, flipping once.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture.
