  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal or similar puffed rice cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows one standard bag
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter cut into chunks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 0.25 tsp salt optional, for flavor balance
  • 1 cup assorted rainbow sprinkles divided

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt. Add the Rice Krispies cereal and half of the rainbow sprinkles, stirring gently to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down gently with a spatula. Top with the remaining sprinkles, pressing them lightly into the mixture.
  • Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

For more vibrant treats, you can adjust the amount of sprinkles to your preference. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
