Ingredients
 

For the Crust:

  • Oreo cookies: 24 crushed into fine crumbs
  • Butter: 1/2 cup melted

For the Filling:

  • Cream cheese: 8 oz softened
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup
  • Heavy whipping cream: 1 1/2 cups
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon

For the Cherry Layer:

  • Cherry pie filling: 1 can 21 oz

For Garnish:

  • Additional whipped cream: for topping
  • Grated chocolate or chocolate shavings: for decoration
  • Whole or halved cherries: for decoration

Instructions

Prepare the Crust:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with the melted butter until all crumbs are moistened.
  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish, creating a firm, even layer. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.

Make the Filling:

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  • Spread half of this creamy filling over the chilled Oreo crust in an even layer.

Add the Cherry Layer:

  • Spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream layer, spreading it out evenly.

Add the Final Layer:

  • Spread the remaining cream mixture over the cherry layer, smoothing out the top.

Chill:

  • Refrigerate the dessert for at least 4 hours, or until set, to allow the layers to firm up.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Before serving, top with additional whipped cream, grated chocolate, and cherries for garnish.
  • Slice into squares and serve chilled.
