  • 1.5 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 1 can pizza sauce 15 ounces
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough 16.3 ounces
  • 35 slices pepperoni
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the pizza sauce to the beef mixture and stir well. Remove from heat.
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters and place in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the beef mixture and 1 cup of cheese to the bowl with the biscuit pieces. Stir to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with the remaining cheese and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be customized with your favorite pizza toppings such as mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers.
