Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet or milk chocolate, based on preference

Instructions

Preheat the Oven and Prepare Pans:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars:

  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Shape the Cookies:

  • Instead of making round cookies, take small handfuls of dough and roll them into long, thin shapes, similar to the size and thickness of a finger or a breadstick. This will make them ideal for dipping.
  • Place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread a little while baking.

Bake:

  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Serve your Chocolate Chip Cookie Dippers with a glass of milk or alongside your favorite warm beverage for dipping.
