Main Ingredients

  • 2 cup water
  • 1.5 tbsp honey use more to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger optional, for warmth

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat the water in a small saucepan until it gently simmers.
  • Stir in the ginger and steep off heat for 2–3 minutes, then strain if desired.
  • Whisk in the honey until fully dissolved.
  • Add the lemon juice and taste; adjust honey or lemon as you like.

Notes

Variation: Add a cinnamon stick while heating the water, or finish with a splash of chamomile for a floral note. For a stronger flavor, make a concentrate with 1 cup water and the same honey and lemon, then dilute with hot water to taste. Store cooled tea (without lemon) up to 3 days and add lemon just before serving.
