Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Scoop large tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each slightly and place a chocolate square in the center. Cover with another tablespoon of dough and seal the edges.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
