Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.25 cup chilled eggnog
  • 0.5 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 4 fl oz freshly brewed espresso about 2 double shots total
  • 0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg add a pinch more for garnish
  • 1 tsp sugar or maple syrup to taste
  • 0.5 cup whipped cream for topping

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Warm the eggnog and milk in a small saucepan over medium-low until steaming, not boiling.
  • Brew the espresso while the nog mixture heats.
  • Whisk in vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sweetener. Froth with a whisk or frother if desired.
  • Divide the hot espresso between two mugs.
  • Pour the spiced nog over the espresso. Top with whipped cream and a light dusting of nutmeg.

Notes

Variation: Add a drop of rum extract or a splash of bourbon for an adults-only twist. For dairy-free, use almond milk and a non-dairy nog. To serve iced, let the nog mixture cool, then pour over ice before adding espresso.
