Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, peas, and carrots. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, boil potatoes in a pot of salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and return to pot.
Mash potatoes with 2 tablespoons of butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper.
Pour beef mixture into a baking dish, spread mashed potatoes on top, and dot with remaining butter.
Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Serve hot.
Notes
For a twist, add a layer of shredded cheese between the beef and potatoes!
