  • 16 oz button mushrooms whole, stems removed
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs preferably panko
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  • Fill each mushroom cap with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve warm, optionally garnished with additional parsley.

Notes

You can add cooked sausage or bacon bits to the filling for extra flavor.
