  • 2 pounds ground beef 80% lean
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs plain
  • 0.5 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup ketchup for topping

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, 3 tablespoons of ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in the slow cooker.
  • Spread the remaining 0.5 cup of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a healthier option, you can substitute ground turkey for ground beef. Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
