  • 4 pounds pork shoulder boneless
  • 1.5 cups BBQ sauce your favorite brand
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, combine BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the mixture over the pork.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
  • Remove pork from slow cooker and shred using two forks.
  • Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the sauce.
  • Serve on buns with extra BBQ sauce, if desired.

Notes

This dish is great for gatherings and pairs well with coleslaw or pickles on the side.
