  • 3 lbs pork ribs baby back or spare ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for coating
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika smoked
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  • Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and place them on a large baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Rub the olive oil onto the ribs, then sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the ribs, pressing it in to adhere.
  • Cover the ribs tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours.
  • Remove the foil, brush the ribs with your barbecue sauce, and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Finish by broiling the ribs for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is caramelized. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

These ribs are perfect for a family dinner or a casual gathering. Adjust the cayenne pepper to suit your heat preference.
