Instructions
Preparation Steps
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes. Stir in bell peppers and garlic; cook until veggies are tender.
Return sausage to the skillet along with uncooked rice, chicken broth, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
Notes
Feel free to customize the vegetables or use brown rice for a healthier alternative. Adjust spices to taste.
