  • 1.5 cups Ritz crackers about 1 sleeve
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the Ritz crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring until the mixture begins to boil. Let it boil for 3 minutes, then remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  • Carefully pour the hot mixture over the arranged crackers and spread evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the toffee layer. Let sit for 5 minutes until the chocolate begins to melt, then spread it out evenly over the toffee.

Notes

Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces and serving. Store in an airtight container.
