Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
Add the sugar to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and shape it into a 1-inch thick circle.
Cut the circle into 8 equal slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
