  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree not pumpkin pie filling
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined. Add the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle a little sea salt over the chocolate chips before baking.
