  • 8 oz penne pasta uncooked
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni slices
  • 0.5 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 0.5 cup onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese grated, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook onion and bell pepper until softened.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Mix in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper with the beef mixture.
  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, combine pasta and beef mixture. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with grated parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight. Just bake it when you're ready to serve.
