  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, bring butter, boiling water, and cocoa powder to a boil, stirring continuously. Pour over the dry ingredients and mix well.
  • Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla extract to the mixture and whisk until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
