Preparation Steps
In a bowl, mix together peanut butter, butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until well combined.
Shape mixture into small egg-shaped balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chill the eggs in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds, until smooth.
Dip each peanut butter egg into the chocolate mixture and place back on the parchment paper.
Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
