  • 1.5 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar light or dark
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats not quick oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Add the oats and baking soda to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips, candy-coated chocolate pieces, and walnuts (if using).
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra flair, try adding 1/2 cup of shredded coconut or raisins to the mix.
