  • 2 lb fresh mussels cleaned and debearded
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 0.5 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 lemon lemon cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic to the pot and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Pour in the white wine, bring to a simmer, and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Carefully add the mussels to the pot and cover with a lid. Cook for 5-7 minutes until mussels open up.
  • Discard any mussels that do not open. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  • Serve mussels with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes during the cooking process.
