Ingredients

  • 2 large apples peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 stick or 1/4 lb, melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 8 oz tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 3/4 cup Mountain Dew regular, not diet

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Prep Apples:
  • Peel, core, and slice apples into wedges. Set aside.
  • Wrap the Apples:
  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Place one apple slice at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up like a crescent. Arrange the wrapped apples in the baking dish.
  • Make the Sauce:
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with sugar and cinnamon. Pour evenly over the apple rolls.
  • Add the Soda:
  • Gently pour the Mountain Dew around the edges of the dish—avoid pouring directly on top of the crescent rolls.
  • Bake:
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. The liquid will turn into a sweet, syrupy glaze as it bakes.
  • Serve:
  • Let cool slightly before serving. Great with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

This cobbler is perfect served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
