Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a mini cupcake pan with paper liners.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
Spoon the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
