  • 1.5 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup carrot grated
  • 0.5 cup frozen peas thawed
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme dried
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 rolls puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the onion, garlic, and carrot to the skillet. Cook for about 5 minutes until vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in the peas, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each into four squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each pastry square. Fold and seal the edges with a fork.
  • Brush the tops of the pies with the beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes
