Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, blend together 1.5 cups flour, softened butter, and 0.25 cup sugar. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.
In another bowl, whisk together 2 cups sugar, 0.25 cup flour, eggs, and lemon juice. Pour over the baked crust.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes. Bars will firm up as they cool.
Once cooled, sprinkle with lemon zest and powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Make sure to use fresh lemons for the best flavor. Allow bars to cool completely before cutting.
