  • 4 pound whole chicken Giblets removed
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup chicken broth Low sodium

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub it with olive oil. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Set the Instant Pot to 'Sauté' mode and brown the chicken on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the chicken and add chicken broth to the Instant Pot. Place the trivet inside and set the chicken on top.
  • Seal the lid and set the Instant Pot to 'Pressure Cook' on high for 25 minutes.
  • Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then release the remaining pressure.

Notes

For a crispier skin, broil the chicken for 3-5 minutes after cooking.
