  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce jarred or homemade
  • 2 cups water more if needed
  • 12 oz spaghetti broken in half
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp dried basil
  • 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese grated, for serving
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Turn on the Instant Pot and set it to 'Sauté' mode. Add olive oil and let it heat up.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Pour in marinara sauce, water, salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil. Stir well.
  • Break the spaghetti in half and layer over the meat sauce. Do not stir.
  • Place the lid on the Instant Pot, lock it, and set to 'Manual' mode for 8 minutes.
  • Once cooking is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 5 minutes, then perform a quick release.
  • Open the lid and mix the spaghetti gently to combine with the sauce.
  • Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley on top.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
