Prepare the breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the third with breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
Dip each mozzarella stick half in flour, ensuring it's completely coated, then dip in egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb steps to ensure a thick coating.
Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to an hour before frying.
Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F. Carefully fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Remove the sticks with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with marinara sauce.
Notes
For best results, ensure the oil temperature is consistent and avoid overcrowding the frying pan.
