  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 lean recommended
  • 1 cup elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp or mild
  • 2 cups milk any type
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or other cooking oil

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in tomato paste, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until combined.
  • Add the uncooked macaroni, beef broth, and milk to the skillet. Stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer until macaroni is tender, about 12 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheese until melted and creamy. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or some sliced jalapeños.
