Instructions
Preparation Steps
Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1 minute, until lightly golden.
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps form. Continue to cook and stir, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble.
Remove from heat and add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Stir until completely melted and smooth.
Add the salt, pepper, and dijon mustard. Mix well.
Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, stirring well to coat the pasta evenly.
Serve immediately, garnish with additional black pepper if desired.
