  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 pieces taco shells corn or flour
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1 piece lime cut into wedges

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Add the tomato sauce and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Warm the taco shells according to the package instructions.
  • Assemble the tacos by filling each shell with the turkey mixture, then top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
  • Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add fresh jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce.
