  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning about 1 oz
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 8 small flour tortillas soft taco size
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 0.25 cup chopped cilantro optional
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until translucent.
  • Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for another minute.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for about 30 seconds.
  • Assemble tacos: Spoon beef onto tortillas, then add lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream. Sprinkle with cilantro if desired.

Notes

Adjust seasoning to your taste preference. Add a squeeze of lime for extra flavor.
