Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
Stir in molasses and butter. Gradually mix in hot water until the batter is smooth.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
