  • 1 cup molasses
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • Stir in molasses and butter. Gradually mix in hot water until the batter is smooth.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
