Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce low sodium if preferred
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 tablespoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic until well mixed.
  • Add ground black pepper, salt, onion powder, and dried thyme to the mixture and stir until combined.
  • Place the steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for extra flavor.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Grill the steak for 6-7 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  • Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain and serving.

Notes

This marinade works well on chicken and pork too. Adjust the marinating time based on the type of meat.
