Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat together the sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the buttermilk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
Fold in 10 crushed Oreo cookies into the batter.
Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners.
Bake for 16-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow cupcakes to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite Oreo frosting and serve with extra crushed Oreo cookies on top.
Notes
For a richer taste, you can substitute half of the buttermilk with coffee.
