  • 3 pounds pork loin trimmed of excess fat
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil extra virgin
  • 4 cups apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth low sodium
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork loin on all sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Place the sliced apples in the bottom of the crockpot. Put the seared pork loin on top of the apples.
  • Pour the chicken broth around the pork. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, cinnamon, and garlic powder.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the pork is tender and cooked through.

Notes

This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes or a mixed green salad. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
