Ingredients

  • 1 lb cream cheese softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts toasted
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or extra cranberries for rolling

Instructions

  • Mix the Base:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar, cranberries, green onions, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Shape the Ball:
  • Scoop the mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap. Use the wrap to shape it into a ball. Twist the ends to seal and chill for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  • Coat the Outside:
  • On a plate, mix together the chopped nuts and (if using) parsley or extra chopped cranberries. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in the coating, pressing gently to help it stick.
  • Serve:
  • Place the cheese ball on a serving dish with crackers, pita chips, or sliced baguette. Let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before serving for best texture.

Notes

Feel free to roll the cheese ball in additional chopped pecans or parsley for extra flavor and presentation.
