Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup shredded coconut sweetened

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until fluffy.
  • Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Stir in the chocolate chips and coconut.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are golden brown, about 9 to 11 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can toast the coconut in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden before mixing it into the batter.
