  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cup apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 0.5 cup walnuts chopped, optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Add the melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and walnuts, if using.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

For an extra touch, top with a simple glaze of powdered sugar and milk.
