  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup rainbow sprinkles plus extra for topping

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the rainbow sprinkles.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly.
  • Add extra sprinkles on top of each cookie, pressing them lightly into the dough.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
